Assessments:
Math facts, Math operations, STAR math, DIBELS, STAR reading, Writing assessment, words their way, high frequency words, IRI comprehension.
Attendance/vacations:
Class starts at 8:30. Please be on time. You will need to drop off your child in the front office to pick up a tardy slip if it is past 8:30 as the gates will be locked. If you are taking a vacation during the school year, you must ask Margo so that it can be considered an excused absence. Any absences over 10 is thought of as excessive.
Do not use the office for pick up after 2:30 pm. You cannot park in the front lot unless you have a special parking space that you bought at the auction. If you have an appt, you need to come BEFORE 2:30.
Daily Dismissal routine:
If your child goes to circle, we will have them in that line on a daily basis.
Walkers will go to walker’s gate and must be picked up by 3:00. This is for those in the neighborhood, or with a middle school student and walking to other campuses only. Remember that MS has different half days, and your child will not walk over to MS on their half days because no one will be there.
Carline will start dismissal at 2:55-3:30
You must approach from the south. Police will be directing traffic to help with this flow to coordinate with High School. Just think Right turns only at drop off/pick up times please.
We have a permit ordinance with neighbors. You may not drive through or park in the cul-de-sac EVER.
If your child is going home with someone, they will need to have permission ahead of time by calling the office, emailing me prior to 12:00, or sending in a note. We have a “Ticket to Ride” system that will help us know where your child needs to be.
Homework:
Third grade home practice is to begin after fall break. I will send home more info to the third-grade parents in preparation for this exciting time.
All children should read and practice math facts.
Continent Study:
Europe and Australia
Each child will present, and a potluck luncheon will follow as a culmination of all presentations.
Volunteers:
Must fill out a packet and have background check- do it now! Get your fingerprint clearance card! Everything is on the website. Do it now, do it early!
